Keepers Mascot: Fenwick

Lauren and Paula tell us about Fenwick, mascot # 103: For those that know us, we have a special place in our hearts for hamsters. They bring us so much joy and happiness. On May 15, 2016, we went to two pet stores to find a hamster and finally in the second store we saw a cute, little, dark brown, short haired hamster that caught our eyes. He looked at us as if to say he was ready for us to take him home and we did. Now we had to find the right name for him. As always, we called our friend Marie Vincent and talked with her about a name. Marie suggested Fenwick (after the Fenwick Island Lighthouse in Delaware) and we liked the name. Since we got Fenwick, he has given us so much joy and happiness. He likes to go on his wheel and eat his hamster food and treats, particularly the honey coated sticks. Fenwick also enjoys his special treats like carrots, corn, and brown rice. He likes it when we rub his little head between his ears. We love our Fenwick very much and cherish each day we have with him. It does not matter what the size (small or large) your pet is because they are a special member of your family as Fenwick is for our family.

Unfortunately, Fenwick crossed the bar in the spring of 2018.
