Volunteers broke out the paintbrushes again and applied a coat of primer to some of the new baseboards for the sitting room. The kitchen area got some attention as some quarter round molding was added to the kitchen floor giving it a more finished look. Volunteers also worked some more on the kitchen pantry – cutting new shelves and also installing a new enclosure for the NOAA cable. They also hung and painted a door for kitchen.
New hardware was installed on equipment room doors while other volunteers began to dismantle the large wooded water tank that has been there for years.
One of the speakers on the bird deterrent was repaired. The wires seem to have been cut – Tony speculates that this might be sabotaged by sea gulls.
Volunteers attempted to power wash the dormer roofs, but were unable to start the power washer. They disassembled the engine and returned to mainland where it will be repaired at a small engine repair shop in Woodbridge.
Lastly volunteers also scraped lantern room lens pedestal to remove flaking paint.
