Keepers Mascot: Sara

Mascot # 52,  Sara, lives with Susan and Ken. Sara is a German Shepherd saved by a rescue organization in Virginia from a situation where she had been severely neglected. The neglect got to the point where she had lost much of her fur and was very thin. After several months of medical care, Sara was ready for adoption and Susan and Ken were ready to adopt her three and a half years ago. Today, Sara is nine years old and a happy, healthy girl even though she gets daily thyroid medication, bi-weekly allergy shots and is still missing some fur. In spite of her earlier treatment, she loves people and loves to give kisses. Her favorite things are playing with her toys, chasing squirrels in the backyard, taking walks with her people, and her daily Greenie dental treat.
