Mascot 68, Bud, lives with Christine who shared this info: I rescued/adopted Bud in Atlanta at 6 weeks old as a companion for my 100 lb. yellow lab. Bud was identical to the very first kitten my dad brought home when I was 5 years old so, when I saw Bud, I knew he was the one. Beau and Bud bonded immediately, and he has grown up thinking he’s a dog. He’s energetic for his 15 years, exceptionally affectionate, and loves people – especially my Airbnb guests! He is very “chatty” and engaging, and converts those who dislike cats. My non-cat loving guests will say, “Well, Bud is different from other cats I’ve met.” Indeed he is! When my guests go out, Bud waits by the front door until they return, and sleeps outside their bedroom door at night as if to guard them. Bud enjoys chasing geckos, watching Wally our resident gator, and the huge turtles that swim beneath my deck. He’s equally fascinated by the water birds – egrets, blue herons, cormorants, roseate spoonbills, sea gulls, ospreys, and pelicans which gather around the water’s edge. Bud is an indoor cat, but loves the screened lanai, and I allow him to join me supervised on the upper and lower decks, so he can enjoy the birds. I would not want him to fall into the water and become Wally’s (mascot 69) lunch!
