It was another rainy day – but this did not deter Chapter volunteers who showed up for a Thomas Point workday.
Because of the rain and wind and more rain and more wind the work was confined to inside. There was plenty to do though. A third shelf was installed in the closet. There was a lot of sanding and painting. (You weren’t thinking the painting was done were you?) The lantern room and lantern stand were sanded in preparation for painting. The stairwell was also sanded and priming was begun. Volunteers also sanded the area on the kitchen floor where the cabinet containing the Coast Guard battery was. The cabinet was no longer needed and so the area under where it stood now needs to be finished. The second floor was given a fresh coat of sea foam green paint.
While no railing work was done on this workday Howard and Cathy Lewis have been making steady progress on the railings. According to Cory it looks fantastic. Hobie has delivered the last batch of pickets he has been making in his home workshop. He and Tony painted them before delivering them earlier this month. Howard and Cathy have been installing them.
