Volunteers went out on Friday and Saturday to spend some quality time on Thomas Point. On Friday a small group went out so they could sand the floors while nobody else was around. They also spent some time repairing a windowsill and patching some of the siding. They also returned a plaque, absent since 1986 to the lantern room door.
On Saturday a slightly larger crew went out and they added a bit of painting and brass polishing to the task list. It has been a while since we’ve been polishing brass. That must mean that things are shaping up out there – which they are. Volunteers also painted some boards and some of the railing. After all, a workday is not complete without a bit of painting!
Earlier this month Matt Daw and his team of engineers did their annual day at Thomas Point. They scraped and painted the exterior. There was also a bit of caulking and maintenance of the power washer.
