Last minute Updates for the Maryland Lighthouse Challenge

A few last minute updates and pointers:

      1. 1. Plan on completing the Challenge at your 10th MANDATORY LIGHTHOUSE STOP. You can visit any of the Bonus Lights last – but your completion souvenirs will only be available at the mandatory lighthouses.
      1. 2. Another suggestion for parking in Baltimore is as follows:
      1. From North and East:
      1. Go west on Lombard St, turn right at light onto Gay St, it is the first parking garage on the left, just past Water St.
      1. From South and West:
      1. Go east on Pratt St, turn left at Aquarium onto Gay St, go straight at light across Lombard St, it is the first parking garage on the left, just past Water St.
      1. Parking is hourly rate, but on Saturday and Sunday, maximum for all day is $9 vs $24 for other garages. (Check the hourly rate going into the garage)
      1. After parking, walk south down Gay St towards the Aquarium, which is on Pier 3. Lightship is on Pier 3, Seven Ft Knolls LH is a short walk away at the end of Pier 5.
      1. 3. Identify Yourself as Challengers Before Entering Point Lookout and Sandy Point State Parks, and Fort Washington (National) Park
      1. When entering a state and federal park, please let guard shack personnel know you are at the park for the event.

Please note: The rate to enter Sandy Point State Park to photograph the light will be $3.00 per vehicle, vs. $3.00 per person as previously noted IF you mention that you are there only for the Challenge. You will be receiving your Sandy Point event souvenir at the Hooper Strait location in St. Michaels.
