Preservation Work From Home
If you’re a Chapter member we already know you love lighthouses. But if you are also a history buff and you’re looking for something to do while at home we have a tailor made project for you. Several years ago the Chapter had a project to help update the lighthouse histories that were on the U.S. Coast Guard Website. Most of the listed lights had basic information, but many had very little else. In an effort to make the site more complete, we started going through the stations and providing updates to all the lighthouses listed. When the Coast Guard had to change their website the histories were temporarily removed. Now they’re back and while the site still needs more work, it would seem a good time to pick up where we left off. So, if you are interested in helping out on this project please let us know. To do this click the contact link on the bottom of the page. Send an email to let us know of your interest and availability. You will receive instructions on how to proceed and a list of lighthouses for your first assignment. There are a limited number of spots available – so let us know as soon as you can of your interest.
