1880: In the US Census, George Worrell, age 29, lives in Sleepy Hole, Suffolk, VA., with his wife, Emeline (age 22), a son George, age 7, and daughter, Caroline, age 5. His occupation is listed as a farm laborer.

1884-1885: Served as Assistant Keeper at Nansemond River Lighthouse, VA.

1891: Served as Assistant Keeper at Nansemond River Lighthouse, VA. His annual salary was $435/year.

1910: In the US Census, George Worrell, age 60, lives in Sleepy Hole, Nansemond County VA., with his wife Emeline, 2 daughters, Sarah (age 15), Gertrude (age 7), and a son Clifford (age 13). His occupation is listed as a carpenter, building homes.

1920: In the US Census, George Worrell, age 69, lives in Nansemond County VA., with his wife Emeline, and daughter Gertrude.  His occupation is listed as a carpenter, building homes.

1921: Died on July 17th in Nansemond County, VA. at the age of 70. He was survived by his wife Emeline. He was buried in Cannon Cemetery, VA. His occupation was listed as a farmer on his death certificate.
