1817:  Emma Jane Dixon is born on June 28th, in VA. to parents Tinsley & Pamelia Dixon.

1836:  Samuel Trader marries Emma Jane in VA.

1860:   In the U.S. Census, Samuel (46) lives with his wife Emma (41) in Madison, VA. with their 5 children. His occupation is listed as seaman.

1870-1871:  Emma J. Trader is appointed 2nd Assistant at Wolf Trap Lighthouse, VA. (Her husband Samuel Trader serves as Principal Keeper). Her salary is $400/year.

1880:  In the U.S. Census, Samuel Trader (66) lives with his wife Emma (63), in Mathews, VA.

1896:   Emma Jane Trader dies on November 2nd in Mathews, VA. at the age of 78. She is buried in the Trader Cemetery, Mathews, VA.
