Are you a teacher looking for an educational presentation to inspire your youth in the importance of preserving the history and the lighthouses we all cherish? Wondering how to include math, English and art classes into the lighthouse theme?
Is your organization looking for a visual quick trip around the globe with personal photographs and anecdotes of lighthouse trekking?
If you’ve arrived at our site, chances are you are looking for a lighthouse guest speaker. If so, let’s get started…
All our speakers contribute both personally and professionally to improve understanding of the lighthouses, keepers, their duties and risks, and preserving and maintaining our lighthouses, keeper’s quarters and Fresnel lenses.
Our education programs have been used in K-6 grades in Maryland and Virginia public and private school systems. Our educational team has even assisted various classroom teachers organizing field trips to such museums as the Calvert Maritime Museum (Drum Point Light and Cove Point Light) and the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (Hoopers Strait Light).
Other speakers bring a wealth of knowledge in hands-on preservation, genealogy research on keepers and their families, lighthouse travels and successfully forming a partnership for owning and maintaining a lighthouse.
The Chapter offers these speakers as a public service; however, donations are gratefully accepted for the H.E.L.P. fund.
Download our brochure HERE to share information to your group.
