Eight volunteers showed up for the last workday of the season at Thomas Point. The weather was beautiful and volunteers were able to replace the broken window where the fog bell used to be. They were also able to glaze one of the other windows that had been replaced earlier this year. They wanted to get this work completed before winter set in.
The fog bell weight closet was opened up for repairs. This is where the weights that helped keep the fog bell running hung. Work continued on construction of a paint closet and volunteers braced the closet framing.
What is a workday without a little painting? Well, it just isn’t complete is it? So, some spots upstairs in need of a touch up were given some attention. The paint was inventoried and then removed for winter storage. But don’t worry, it will be back next year in case you have a desire to do some painting out at Thomas Point! We could always use the help.
Before leaving, the benches that are usually on the lower deck for visitors were taken inside for the winter.
It was another successful season with a lot accomplished. Stay tuned for next years volunteer schedule.
