1889:  Cale Ballance Stowe was born on April 12, 1889, to parents Henry B. & Jane Burrus Stowe in Hatteras, NC.

1910:  In the U. S. Census, Cale’s occupation is listed as a sailor.

1912:  Marries Frances Swain on May 21, 1912, in Hatteras, NC.

1913-1914: Serves as First Assistant at Sandy Point Shoal Lighthouse, MD. His annual salary was $480.

1914: Serves as First Assistant at Brant Island Shoals Lighthouse, NC.

1915-1916: Serves as Second Assistant at Cape Lookout Lighthouse, NC. His annual salary was $456.00.

1916-1918: Serves as First Assistant at Laurel Point Lighthouse, NC. His annual salary was $480.00.

1918:  On April 24, Keeper Stowe aids a gas boat caught in a bad storm while stationed at Laurel Point Lighthouse.

19181919: Serves as First Assistant at Cove Point Lighthouse, MD. His annual salary was $720.00.

19191922: Serves as Principal Keeper at Turkey Point Lighthouse, MD. His annual salary was $780.00.

1921: Keeper Stowe tows a disabled powerboat with 7 men on board to Town Point Wharf, MD.

19221924: Serves as Principal Keeper at Drum Point Lighthouse, MD.

1924: Keeper Stowe dies on October 29, 1924, from tuberculosis at Black Mountain, NC, after serving a total of 11 years in the Lighthouse Service. He is buried at Rollinson Cemetery, Hatteras, NC.
