15th Annual Chesapeake Chapter Photo Contest - 2009 Results

Thank you to all those who submitted entries for the 2009 Chesapeake Chapter photo contest. We only had a total of 39 entries this year but there were many fine entries submitted. We have some very creative photographers among our members. I particularly enjoyed the special effects category where photographers were free to experiment. I’m only sorry everyone couldn’t win!
In the Preservation Category the winner is Shirley Whitenack with a photograph of Beavertail Light undergoing renovations. The honorable mention goes to Minnie Gallman with a shot of work at Hooper Strait Light.
In the Special Effects Category the winner is Minnie Gallman with a shot of Thomas Point Lighthouse and the honorable mention goes to Shirley Whitenack for her shot of Scituate Light.
In the Weather Category the winner is Patricia Zahn with a photo of Thomas Point Lighthouse and the honorable mention goes to Ruth Rosenthal for her shot of Old Presque Isle Lighthouse.
We only had one member send in photos for the Young Keeper’s Category, so the winning photo from Miles Alan Clark is a shot of Hereford Inlet and his Cape May photo gets an honorable mention.
Thanks again to the members who sent in photos. Best wishes for 2010.
