Keepers Mascot: Tucker

tuckerk_1We spotlight mascot # 35 – Tucker, a Welsh Corgi owned by Greg and Lynne. Greg provided the following bio on Tucker:
Tucker was born in December and we adopted him 6 years ago when we was 2 years old. His previous owner was sick and could no longer care for him so we intercepted him on the way to the shelter. He is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. These are herding dogs. He enjoys chasing everything in an attempt to “herd” it, especially geese, squirrels and rabbits! Since we are boaters we brought him along and it took him a while to get used to it since his first years were in New Hampshire and not near any water. He now travels with us on every boat trip throughout the Bay and has seen almost all the upper bay lighthouses. But he most enjoys when we go slow in the local creeks and follow geese that are swimming ahead of the boat!

Thanks Greg! Some Chapter members met Tucker in 2013 and we recall his friendly greetings to all of us. Greg is the Chapter’s main contact at the Chesapeake Lightship in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and is doing a great job preserving one of the last light vessels made in America.tuckerk_2
